3-best-snowmobile-batteries

I know finding a snowmobile battery can be tough. You can’t pick up any old battery. You need to be able to find something that can deal with the extreme cold that your snowmobile is being operated in. You need to find something that can deal with the bumps and vibrations caused by off-roading.

I have always struggled to find batteries for my snowmobile. I have gone through countless options trying to fit the perfect fit for my vehicle. The three that I have chosen to include on this list of the best snowmobile batteries are the best on the market.

  • 12 volt, 18 amp-hour, 310 cold cranking amps, high performance maintenance-free battery
  • Totally sealed and spill-proof - all acid is absorbed in special plates and absorbed glass mat separ
  • No need to ever add water
  • Advanced lead-calcium technology hold its specific gravity more than 3 times longer than conventiona
  • Battery supplied dry with acid bottle

As I said, when you drive a snowmobile, you are going to be bouncing around quite a bit. This means that you want a completely sealed battery. You don’t want any awful leakages, do you? The Yuasa YUAM620BH is just the ticket. This can be bumped around as much as you want. It is still going to be pumping out the power that you need from it.
While 310 CCA may not seem like a whole lot, it is perfect for a snowmobile. You don’t really need anything much more powerful than this. You will still be kicking that snowmobile into action rather quickly.
This battery is completely maintenance-free. Again, this is something that you really want from a snowmobile battery. You don’t want to be caught out there in the blistering cold because your battery decided to die on you, do ya?
The only time that you are really going to need to do anything to your battery is when you buy it. You have to add the acid yourself. However, I think this actually works to your benefit. It means that when you receive the battery, you don’t need to worry about it having expired or something awful like that. The battery will have the highest possible lifespan.

Pros
  • Long lifespan
  • Huge amount of starting power
  • Leak-proof
Cons
  • Can be a bit difficult to fill the battery with acid initially.

Power Source Lightning Start Battery
  • Sealed agm maintenance-free, no acid water needed, never needs re-filling
  • Factory activated
  • Ultra high performance starting power
  • Oem compatible replacement battery
  • Polarity | - ||||| + |

Next up, I want to draw your attention to the Power Source Lightning Start Battery. I know that this is not going to be a huge brand name. However, I don’t think this is much of a problem. The quality of the battery is always going to be a whole lot more important.
Right off the bat, I want to point out the whopping 20ah capacity. This is perfect for those that are going to be taking their snowmobiles out for long periods of time. You won’t have to worry about it just dying on you.
This battery is 100% maintenance-free. As you will probably remember from what I told you earlier, this is going to be important when you are driving a snowmobile. You really cannot afford to be breaking down. Most people are likely going to be leaving their snowmobiles in storage for long periods of time too. This means that you want that battery ready to go as soon as the snow hits.
One of the things that I really, really love about this battery is just how effective it is in the cold weather. With many other batteries, albeit none that you will find on this list, you will find that they take a while to get going when it is cold. In fact, I have come across a couple of batteries that simply won’t give you any power if the temperature drops below a certain amount. You aren’t going to need to worry about that here.
If you want a battery that is virtually hassle-free, then you are going to need to pick this up.

Pros
  • Plenty of power for sub 0 starts
  • 500 Cranking amps
  • Does not bog down before starting
Cons
  • Might have to modify strap or post for good fitting
Best Overall
XS Power D5100R XS Series 12V 3,100
  • 12 volt battery with ca: 745, ah: 60
  • Absorbed glass mat (electrolyte is suspended in fiberglass)
  • Spill proof, sealed, valve regulated and vibration resistant
  • Ultra low internal resistance
  • Mount in almost any position

I want to wrap up with the PowerStar YTX2620L. Again, not one of the first brands that will spring to mind for many people. However, I can assure you that this is a tremendous battery.
The main thing I love about this battery is just how rugged it is. It is seriously well-built. It doesn’t matter whether you overcharge this battery. It doesn’t matter whether you completely drain the battery. It is just going to work perfectly.
This puts up with a serious amount of vibration too. Throw in the fact that you have a battery that can be mounted in any position with ease, then you are going to end up with an awesome battery. This is a battery that is going to last you a long time in the snowy weather.
I am not done yet, though. This is a battery that has a fantastic recovery rate. This means that if you do end up draining the battery completely, it is going to be nice and easy to kick it back into life.
This really is a fantastic battery. The best part is that you should be able to use this with just about every snowmobile. Obviously, you are going to need to check the spec for the snowmobile that you have. Although, it should be compatible with the vast majority of major brands.

Pros
  • Long lifespan
  • Huge amount of starting power
  • Leak-proof
Cons
  • Can be a bit difficult to fill the battery with acid initially.

Conclusion

I have gone through what I believe to be the best snowmobile batteries on the market. Each of these has been chosen due to the performance that they offer, particularly when it comes to the conditions that you will often find a snowmobile going through. Each of these snowmobile batteries offers something a little bit different. Some have more capacity. Some are more rugged. Go through each of the reviews and choose the one that catches your attention the most.
